Description

There are landscapes that exist only in stone, and picture jasper carries one of them. This pendant is set in sterling silver, its frame shaped to let a single slice of picture jasper claim the full attention it deserves. Picture jasper earns its name honestly: its surface reads like a miniature terrain, sandy ochres, warm browns and soft greys pooling into forms that suggest mesa cliffs, dry riverbeds, ancient forest floors. No two stones share the same composition, which means this particular piece holds a scene that belongs to no other pendant in existence. The silverwork enclosing it is restrained and deliberate, a bordered bezel setting that holds the stone flush and secure without competing with its natural topography.
