Description

There are skies you do not forget, and this ring carries the colour of one. Cut into a generous oval and set flush within a sterling silver bezel, the lapis lazuli stone sits like a still lake held in polished hands. Lapis has been treasured across the ancient world, from the courts of Mesopotamia to the ateliers of Mughal jewellers who ground it for pigment and pressed it into gold as a symbol of the infinite. Here, the tradition is recast in sterling silver, the bezel wrought clean and unadorned so that the stone commands every glance. The deep midnight blue, veined with the faint gold of natural pyrite, is unapologetic and entirely its own. The ring measures twenty millimetres in height, weighs 9.9 grams and is offered in size 9, sitting with the confident presence of a signet without its formality. Wear it against an ivory silk kurta at an evening gathering where the blue deepens under warm light; or pair it with a raw cotton sari and oxidised silver cuffs for a Sunday that asks for ease and intention in equal measure. The sterling silver band carries a smooth, polished finish that resists the patchiness of lesser alloys and wears comfortably through a full day. At 9.9 grams it has real weight on the finger, neither costume-light nor cumbersome. Size 9 suits a medium to broad finger well and the low-profile bezel setting is unlikely to snag on fabric.
