Description

There are days when a single stone says everything a sentence cannot. Blue topaz has long been the silversmith's chosen companion: cool, pellucid, catching light the way still water catches the sky at dusk. This ring centres an oval-cut faceted blue topaz in a close, elevated bezel or prong setting that lets the stone breathe while the sterling silver band anchors it with quiet confidence. Sterling silver, by its nature, brings a cooler undertone than gold, and here that quality is entirely intentional. The ring weighs a comfortable 5 grams, sits at a standard height of roughly 0.2 inches (approximately 0.5 cm) on the finger, and is finished in a clean, polished silver that reflects without overwhelming. The tradition it belongs to is the understated school of Indian silver jewellery, practised from Rajasthan to Bengal, where restraint is itself a form of refinement. Wear it with a pale blue or ivory chanderi kurta for an afternoon that calls for elegance without ceremony. It reads equally well against the cuff of a silk blouse at an evening gathering, the topaz shifting from ice to cobalt as the light changes around it. Offered in size 7, this ring is suited to everyday wear: sterling silver is durable enough for regular use and the low-profile setting avoids catching on fabric. At 5 grams, it sits lightly on the hand, noticeable only when the stone catches the light.
