Description

Devotion, distilled into brass and worn close to the heart. The trishul rises at the centre of this brooch-pendant in warm, oxidised brass, its three prongs a quiet invocation of Shiva's sovereign energy. A rudraksha bead, sacred to Shaivite tradition, anchors the composition just below the shaft, while a miniature shankh swings free as a dangle beneath, its spiral form recalling the conch blown at the start of every ritual. The piece belongs to a devotional jewellery vocabulary long practised by temple-craft artisans across Rajasthan and South India, where brass is favoured for its resonance with temple votives and its honest, unhurried warmth. At 2.3 inches tall and 0.8 inches wide (approximately 5.8 cm by 2 cm), and weighing just 7.31 grams, it carries the heft of intention without burdening the wearer. Pin it to the lapel of a hand-woven khadi kurta for a morning puja or a cultural gathering where understated devotion speaks louder than ornament. It sits equally well on the bodice of a cotton saree at a heritage festival or a Mahashivaratri celebration, lending quiet spiritual gravity to considered dressing. The brooch fastening at the rear is secure enough for daily wear. The oxidised brass finish deepens over time, acquiring a patina that only adds character. Free-sized and requiring no adjustment, it is a piece that travels easily between the sacred and the everyday.
