Description

There are prayers that need no words, only form. The Shivalinga, one of Shaivism's oldest and most elemental symbols, here meets the sacred syllable Om in a single casting of sterling silver. The result is a pendant that carries the full weight of devotional iconography without ornament for its own sake. Sterling silver, worked to a smooth, bright finish, gives the motif its clean authority: the linga rising from the pitha, the Om inscribed or rendered in relief above, the composition contained within a form that is at once architectural and intimate. This is silverwork in the tradition of South Indian votive objects and Bengali silver casting, where the sacred image demands precision over flourish. At 1.75 inches (4.4 cm) in height and 1 inch (2.5 cm) in width, and weighing 5.8 grams, it is substantial without heaviness, a piece that rests on the chest with quiet confidence. Wear it on a fine silver chain against a plain white cotton kurta for daily puja-day dressing, or layer it over a simple silk blouse on Mahashivratri, letting the symbol speak without competition from other jewellery. The free-size pendant suits any chain gauge, and sterling silver's durability makes this an everyday piece. The smooth finish resists snagging on fabric and ages to a gentle patina that only deepens its devotional character over time.
