Description

There are faces of the divine that ask to be counted. This pendant presents Ganesha in his navaroopa form, nine heads radiating outward in a single, dense medallion of sterling silver. Each face is individually rendered, the trunks curling in distinct directions, the crowns stacked and layered so that no two heads repeat exactly. The silhouette measures approximately 3.94 centimetres in height and 4.19 centimetres in width, and weighs just under fourteen grams, substantial enough to carry presence without pulling. The surface reads as deeply worked oxidised silver, the recessed areas darkened to throw each face into sharp relief, a finishing technique that owes much to the repoussé and chasing traditions of Bengali and Rajasthani silver craft, where the karigar's graver does the work that stone would otherwise do. No gemstones are set; the silver alone holds the composition. Worn against a plain silk blouse or a fine merino kurta, the medallion becomes an immediate focal point. For a wedding or puja occasion, it sits beautifully against a Benarasi tissue or a Kanjivaram border, anchoring the neckline with devotional weight. The pendant is free-sized for suspension, fitting any chain or cord the wearer chooses to pair it with. Sterling silver at this gauge resists everyday bending and holds its finish well with basic care. A gentle silver cloth restore the polish between wears, keeping each of the nine faces articulate and bright.
