Description

There is an old belief that the nine sacred stones, worn together, hold the full arc of the cosmos in a single setting. This Navaratna ring is built around that ancient Indian convention: nine gemstones, each aligned with a planetary deity, arranged in a traditional cluster configuration. Set in sterling silver that has been finished to a warm, semi-polished sheen, the ring rises to a height of 18 mm, giving the central setting a presence that reads clearly on the hand without becoming unwieldy. The stones follow the canonical Navaratna sequence, with a central ruby-toned principal stone encircled by eight companions representing the surrounding planetary influences. At 10 grams, the ring sits with genuine substance on the finger, the weight of the silver conveying integrity rather than excess. The Navaratna tradition runs deep across Indian goldsmithing, from the Rajput courts of Jaipur to temple jewellery ateliers in Nagercoil, and this sterling silver interpretation brings that heirloom vocabulary into an accessible, everyday form. Wear it with a silk kurta in ivory or deep jewel tones for a festive lunch, letting the colour of each stone speak individually in natural light. For a more contemporary pairing, it sits equally well against a fine-knit hand and minimal gold studs at a cultural evening or family celebration. The ring is offered in the size shown, with an 18 mm face height. Sterling silver wears durably with routine care; store away from moisture and polish occasionally with a soft cloth to maintain its lustre.
