Description
Nine stones, one ancient cosmology, worn on a single finger. The Navaratna ring is one of India's oldest talismanic jewellery forms, rooted in Vedic astrology and carried forward through centuries of silversmith tradition. This piece is rendered in sterling silver, its surface worked to hold nine gemstones in a symmetrical cluster setting, each stone corresponding to a celestial body in the Navagraha system: ruby at the centre, encircled by pearl, coral, emerald, yellow sapphire, diamond, blue sapphire, hessonite and cat's eye. The arrangement follows the classical prescribed order, making this as much a devotional object as an adornment. Weighing ten grams, the ring carries pleasing substance on the hand. The shank rises fifteen millimetres in height, giving the piece a commanding presence without tipping into excess. The silver is finished to a warm polish that allows the varied colours of the nine stones to speak without competition. Wear this with an ivory or cream handloom saree for a puja or naming ceremony, where the ring's cosmological meaning carries quiet weight. It pairs equally well with a plain silk kurta at a festive family gathering, the stones catching the light of diyas. The fifteen millimetre height suits medium to long fingers comfortably. Sterling silver is durable enough for regular wear and responds well to gentle cleaning with a soft cloth. The ring arrives in standard sizing, making it a considered gift for a discerning recipient.
