Description

Devotion, distilled into brass and worn close to the heart. At the centre of this brooch-styled pendant sits Nandi in reverent posture before the Shiva Linga, framed within a Surya halo whose radiating rays recall the solar crowns seen in South Indian temple jewellery traditions, particularly the votive ornaments crafted for deity adornment in Nagercoil and Thanjavur. A Trishul motif anchors the composition below, lending the piece its vertical axis and devotional grammar. Cast in brass and finished to a warm antique-gold tone, the piece carries the weight and gravity of ritual metalwork without the austerity of plain temple brass. Measuring 1.65 inches by 1.65 inches (approximately 4.2 cm by 4.2 cm) and weighing 18.12 grams, it sits as a considered, substantial accent rather than a passing ornament. Wear this pendant on a long black silk cord over a Kanjeevaram silk sari for a Navaratri puja, where its halo catches candlelight with quiet authority. It reads equally well layered over an ivory kurta with oxidised silver bangles for a heritage-conscious festive afternoon. The free-size fitting accommodates any chain or cord the wearer chooses, making it straightforwardly adaptable. The brass construction ensures durability through regular wear, and the antique finish resists the flat brightness that would diminish its devotional character. Store away from moisture to preserve the warm depth of tone.
