Description

Devotion, cast in metal, worn close to the heart. The Shiva Linga, cradled within the coils of a naag, is among the oldest sacred geometries in Indian iconography. Here, that ancient union is rendered in brass, a metal long favoured by temple craftsmen across Rajasthan and the Deccan for its warm, ochre resonance and its receptivity to hand-chasing. The naag rises in tight, deliberate spirals around the linga, each scale suggested with fine surface work that catches light at every angle. Suspended below, a single rudraksha bead introduces a natural, matte counterpoint to the polished brass body, grounding the piece in devotional tradition rather than mere ornament. The brooch measures approximately 6.4 cm in height by 3 cm in width, and at just over fifteen grams it carries a pleasing, substantive weight without ever feeling heavy. Wear this piece on a cream or ivory kurta for a morning puja gathering, where its sacred geometry reads with quiet authority. It sits equally well on a handwoven indigo cotton jacket for a cultural evening or craft fair, its temple sensibility complementing textiles of honest provenance. Offered in a single free size suitable for most lapels, stoles and dupattas, the brooch fastens with a standard pin at the back. The brass carries a warm, aged finish that deepens beautifully with time, requiring only occasional wiping with a soft cloth to maintain its lustre.
