Description

There is a kind of beauty that belongs to tidal things, to the rhythm of water folding over itself in silver light. This pendant is shaped as a compact oval cluster, measuring just under two and a half centimetres in height and roughly one and a half centimetres in width, and it weighs a quiet 3.68 grams against the collarbone. The centrepiece is a gathered arrangement of multicolour stones, each one catching light at a slightly different temperature, set within a sterling silver frame that has been worked into a wave or ripple pattern along its border. That undulating silverwork recalls the tradition of repoussé-adjacent surface carving practised across Rajasthani and Bengali silver ateliers, where craftsmen coax movement from flat metal through patience and a fine graver. The silver itself carries the cool, honest lustre particular to well-finished sterling, neither gilded nor oxidised, simply true to its own nature. Wear it on a fine silver chain over a handloom cotton kurta in slate or ecru, where the multicolour stones read almost like a garden seen through river water. It works equally well against a silk blouse at an intimate festive gathering, the small, composed scale making it suitable for afternoon events where restraint is the point. The free-size pendant suits virtually any chain gauge and requires no adjustment. At less than four grams, it sits without pulling and is comfortable through long hours of wear, from morning meetings to evening celebrations.
