Description

There is something quietly meditative about a ring that asks you to look closer. At its centre, a blush pink stone sits like a still point within a radiating mandala, its geometric petals unfurling in concentric layers of pressed and worked brass. The mandala form has long held its place in the visual vocabulary of Indian craft, from the floor patterns of Rajasthani havelis to the repousse borders of Bengali silverwork, and here it is translated into jewellery with the same devotional attention to symmetry. Brass, that warm-toned metal beloved of folk and artisanal traditions across the subcontinent, carries an earthy luminosity that no synthetic coating can replicate. The ring's face measures roughly 1.05 by 1.10 inches (approximately 2.67 by 2.79 cm) and weighs a satisfying 9 grams, substantial enough to feel considered on the hand without overpowering it. Wear it against a handloom cotton kurta in undyed ecru for an afternoon of quiet errands that deserve better than ordinary. Equally at home slipped onto the finger with a silk zardozi dupatta at a festive daytime gathering, where its geometry holds its own without competing. The adjustable shank opens and closes with a gentle press, fitting most finger sizes without any sizing ritual. Brass develops a gentle patina with wear, deepening in character rather than diminishing. A soft dry cloth keeps its surface honest and bright, making this a ring suited to daily devotion.
