Description

There are prayers that have been spoken in silver for centuries, and this pendant carries one of them. Mahakal, the lord of time and dissolution, is rendered here in sterling silver with a devotion that feels less like manufacture and more like offering. The face of Shiva emerges from a form that measures just under five centimetres tall and two centimetres wide, broad at the crown and tapering toward the bail, a silhouette shaped by the weight of iconographic tradition rather than trend. A genuine rudraksha bead sits within the composition, its rough, sacred surface contrasting the smooth oxidised silver ground around it. The finish is antique-dark, the kind achieved through careful oxidation rather than patina left to chance, allowing the relief carving to read with the clarity of a temple wall rubbing. At nine point eight four grams, the piece has honest presence without heaviness. Wear it on a black cotton cord against a handloom kurta for morning prayers or casual days of quiet intention. It reads equally well threaded on a fine silver chain beneath a silk sari blouse at a festival gathering, where its devotional gravity becomes quiet personal adornment. The pendant is free-sized by nature of its bail, which accepts both fine chains and thicker cords with ease. Sterling silver at this weight wears reliably day to day; a light buff with a soft cloth will keep the oxidised finish looking intentional and alive.
