Description

There are prayers that take shape in silver, and this is one of them. Rooted in the living tradition of South Indian temple jewellery, this sterling silver pendant brings together Lord Venkateswara of Tirupati and Goddess Lakshmi in a single devotional composition. The form follows the iconographic conventions of temple craft, where divinity is rendered with precise, almost architectural intention: the figures occupy a vertical panel measuring approximately 3.8 centimetres in height and just over 2 centimetres in width, the relief work building quietly outward from a flat back plate. Sterling silver, with its bright, cool lustre, suits the sanctity of the subject without the ornamentation that gold might impose. At 7.57 grams, the pendant carries genuine presence without weight. The finish appears polished and considered, the kind of surface that catches candlelight as readily as afternoon sun, and the silhouette is contained, devotional, clean. Worn on a fine silver chain against a cream or ivory silk kurta, it becomes the only adornment a woman needs for a temple visit or a family puja at home. For diaspora wearers, it translates equally well over a simple white linen dress, carrying the spiritual without the ceremonial. At free size, the pendant requires only a chain of your choosing. Sterling silver is resilient enough for daily wear, and at this weight it rests comfortably at the base of the throat. With modest care, the polish holds its clarity across years of faithful wearing.
