Description

Light, on both sides. Lord Surya, the solar sovereign of the Hindu pantheon, is rendered here in high-relief on fine 999 silver, that rarest and most luminous grade of the metal, unmarred by alloy. His disc-framed visage, radiant with the iconographic precision of classical temple silverwork, occupies the obverse with quiet authority. Turn the pendant and you find the Shri Gayatri Bisa Yantra, a sacred geometric grid charged with the resonance of the Gayatri mantra, engraved with the ruled exactness that Rajasthani silver craftsmen have long brought to devotional objects. The piece weighs just 5.8 grams and measures approximately 1 inch in height by 0.9 inch in width (roughly 2.5 cm by 2.3 cm), its compact silhouette belying the density of intention within. The finish is bright and clean, as befits silver of this purity, with no stone setting to distract from the lineage of the motifs themselves. Wear it on a fine silver chain against a cream Chanderi kurta for daily puja mornings, or thread it on a black silk cord with a handloom cotton sari for a Navratri gathering where ornament carries meaning beyond decoration. The free-size bail accommodates chains of varying thickness. At under six grams, it sits lightly against the sternum through long wear. The 999 silver requires only occasional gentle polishing to retain its characteristic warm brightness, making it a wholly practical piece of devotional jewellery for everyday life.
