Description

There are devotions that do not need words, only silver. This pendant renders Lord Krishna mid-melody, murli raised to his lips, in sterling silver worked to a fine oxidised finish that brings every carved contour into relief. The figure stands at one and a half centimetres wide and nearly three and a half centimetres tall (approximately 0.85 inches by 1.35 inches), compact enough to rest close to the heart without weight or fuss. At seven and a half grams, the piece carries the quiet heft of honest metalwork. The silhouette belongs to a long tradition of devotional silver casting practised across temple towns from Nagercoil in the south to the silver-working ateliers of Rajasthan, where artisans render the divine with a restraint that feels almost meditative. No stones distract from the narrative; the silver alone carries the poetry of the moment, the lifted flute, the slight tilt of the divine form. Worn on a delicate silver chain, this pendant sits naturally against the neckline of a fine cotton kurta on an ordinary Tuesday, or against raw silk at a puja gathering where jewellery should speak softly and mean deeply. It pairs equally well with a simple white linen shirt for those who carry their faith lightly but deliberately. The bail accepts most standard chains and the free-size format means no adjustment is needed. Sterling silver of this gauge wears durably over time; a soft cloth buff periodically restores the lustre without disturbing the oxidised detail work.
