Description

There are prayers that are worn close to the heart, and this is one of them. Khatu Shyam, the beloved deity of Rajasthan, is rendered here in sterling silver with the quiet reverence that the metal demands. The pendant draws from a tradition of devotional silverwork long practised in Rajasthan, where skilled karigars translate sacred iconography into wearable form with unhurried precision. Sterling silver, known for its cool lustre and lasting integrity, lends the portrait a dignified gravity. The surface carries fine relief detailing, bringing the deity's face and adornments forward from the background in gentle dimension. At just 3 grams, the piece sits lightly against the body. Its proportions, measuring 1.20 inches (approximately 3.05 cm) in height and 0.55 inches (approximately 1.40 cm) in width, give it an intimate scale without making it recede. Pair this pendant with a deep red or ivory cotton kurta for a morning puja gathering, letting it rest on a simple silver chain close to the chest. For a quieter everyday pairing, it reads equally well against a plain white linen shirt, worn as a private mark of devotion rather than ornament. The free-size bale accommodates most standard chains, silver or otherwise. Sterling silver requires only occasional gentle polishing to retain its characteristic brightness, and its durability makes this pendant a companion for daily wear, seasonal festivity and, in time, quiet heirloom keeping.
