There are gods who protect, and then there is Kartikeya, who leads. Cast in sterling silver, this pendant renders the six-faced commander of the celestial armies in a form that belongs to the living tradition of devotional silverwork practised across temple towns from Nagercoil to the ghats of Bengal. Kartikeya stands in his martial aspect, vel in hand, peacock at his side, the iconography drawn with the quiet authority that comes from a silversmith who knows the form not merely as ornament but as invocation. The surface carries a burnished finish that deepens the relief work, allowing every detail of his crown, armour and vahana to read clearly against the skin. At 1.55 inches tall and 0.5 inches wide (approximately 3.9 cm by 1.3 cm), the pendant is compact without being slight, and at 4.12 grams it settles with comfortable weight on a chain. Wear it on a fine sterling silver box chain with a white kurta for festival mornings, or layered beneath the collar of a silk shirt on Skanda Sashti and Thaipusam.
