Description

There are devotions that ask to be worn close to the heart. This brooch renders Ganesha in warm, oxidised brass, his broad silhouette framed by a wreath of stylised flowers that curl outward from the deity's form in the manner of traditional votive offerings. At roughly 6.7 cm tall and 7.1 cm wide, the piece carries genuine presence without heaviness, its 37 grammes settling comfortably against cloth. The brass has been worked and finished to read like aged temple metal, the kind that accumulates patina over years of devotion rather than days of wear. Floral motifs of this kind appear across the folk-jewellery traditions of Rajasthan and Bengal alike, where brass was long the democratic counterpart to gold, cast and chased by karigars who understood the devotional weight of every form they pressed into metal. Wear it pinned to the drape of a Kanjeevaram or a Banarasi sari for a puja gathering, where its scale rewards proximity and lamplight. It reads with equal assurance on the lapel of a structured silk kurta at a festive lunch, anchoring an otherwise minimal look. The brooch is offered as a single free-size piece, fitted with a standard pin closure that sits securely against most woven fabrics. The oxidised brass surface requires no special care beyond occasional gentle wiping; it is a piece made for quiet, faithful, everyday devotion.
