Description

There are creatures that carry entire mythologies on their backs, and the lizard is one of them. Across South Asian folk tradition, the lizard has long been regarded as a harbinger of good fortune, its quick, darting form a symbol of agility and renewal. Here, that living emblem is rendered in sterling silver, its body articulated with quiet precision by hand, the surface textured to suggest scale and movement. At the heart of the setting sits a rainbow moonstone, its blue-white adularescence shifting with every tilt of the light, as though the creature itself is alive. The stone is held in a simple bezel, letting the silver do the storytelling. The piece measures approximately 4.3 cm in height and 2.5 cm in width, with a depth of just 0.5 cm, and weighs a considered 4 grams. It arrives ready to thread onto a chain of your choice. Wear it against a handloom cotton kurta in ivory or sage for an afternoon gathering where the moonstone's glow catches the daylight. Equally, it settles beautifully at the neckline of a fine silk blouse worn with a sari, where its folkloric character reads as intentional and considered. The sterling silver is finished to a soft, polished tone that resists the harshness of bright shine. At free size and a featherlight 4 grams, it sits comfortably through long hours, requiring nothing more than occasional gentle cleaning to keep it at its quiet, luminous best.
