Description

A single flower, set in silver, carries the weight of a centuries-old conversation between stone and light. Worked in sterling silver and finished to a luminous polish, this floral brooch borrows its soul from the Kundan tradition, where stones are held not by prongs but by thin leaves of refined metal pressed carefully around each gem. The motif is a bloom in full face, its petals radiating outward from a central stone-studded heart, each facet catching light the way a marigold holds dew. At 1.7 inches tall and 1.2 inches wide (approximately 4.3 cm by 3 cm), the piece is compact without being diminutive, its 13 grammes of sterling silver giving it a satisfying heft. The setting speaks to a Rajasthani sensibility, recalling the disciplined stone-work that Jaipur's silver ateliers have refined over generations, here rendered accessible without any compromise to intention. Pin this brooch to the fall of a handwoven chanderi dupatta for a wedding mehendi, where it reads as quietly considered jewellery rather than decoration for its own sake. It works equally well anchoring the lapel of an ivory Nehru jacket at a formal evening gathering, where its restrained scale earns a second glance. Offered in a single free size with a standard pin-and-clasp closure, this brooch sits flush against fabric without pulling or shifting. Sterling silver at this weight is robust enough for regular wear; a soft cloth kept nearby is all the care it asks.
