Description

There are brooches, and then there are the ones that stop a room. This Kundan-style piece is set in sterling silver, its compact silhouette measuring just 1.2 inches in height by 1.3 inches in width (approximately 3 cm by 3.3 cm), and weighing a precise 11 grams. The collet-set green and white stones are arranged in the manner of classical Kundan work, where each stone is cradled within fine silver foils and borders rather than prong-set, a technique that flatters the gem's colour by amplifying its inner light. The aesthetic draws from the courtly jewellery vocabulary of Rajasthan, where flat-set stones against a burnished ground have long been used to suggest garden imagery: leaves, blossoms and cool water. The green stones carry that garden mood quietly, offset by the clarity of the white accents around them. Pin it to the neckline of a raw silk kurta in ivory or champagne for a winter wedding, and it reads like an heirloom. Worn on the lapel of a structured linen blazer for a cultural evening or a gallery opening, it becomes a considered, quietly confident accent. The sterling silver base is finished to a smooth, clean ground that resists tarnish with minimal care. The standard pin-back closure is secure and flat against fabric. At 11 grams, the brooch sits without pulling, making it genuinely wearable through long occasions without adjustment.
