Description

There are rings, and then there are rings that hold a whole tradition inside a single setting. Kundan work traces its origins to the royal ateliers of Rajasthan, where karigars in Jaipur perfected the art of pressing highly refined gold foil around uncut stones to create settings of extraordinary tightness and luminosity. This piece carries that vocabulary forward in brass, a metal long favoured for its warm, gold-like tone and its receptiveness to intricate surface work. The central stone is locked into place using the classic Kundan technique: each piece of glass or semi-precious material held firm by delicate foil pressed carefully along every edge, so the setting itself becomes invisible and the stone appears to float. The result is a face that reads as pure colour and light, rooted in a craft that Rajasthani workshops have refined across generations. Pair it with a deep silk kurta and chanderi dupatta for a festive lunch where the occasion calls for something considered rather than loud; or wear it against a plain cotton saree in the evenings, where the ring becomes the single point of ceremony at an otherwise quiet gathering. The ring is fashioned in brass throughout, which gives it a pleasing heft without unnecessary weight. Because no specific measurements have been provided, buyers are encouraged to consult the size guide before ordering. The brass base is well suited to daily wear when kept away from prolonged contact with water.
