Description

There are rings, and then there are rings that remember. Kundan work belongs to the courts of Rajasthan, and this piece carries that lineage quietly in its brass setting. The technique is ancient: a base of metal is built up into a bezel, and refined lac is pressed beneath each stone to hold it steady, the foil beneath each piece catching and throwing light in a way no claw setting can replicate. Here, uncut glass or stone elements are set flush within the frame, their edges softened by fine gold-toned Kundan borders that read as continuous ornament rather than interruption. The brass beneath the gold finish gives the ring warmth and weight, lending it the density of a genuine antique piece from the ateliers of Jaipur, where this craft has been passed from hand to hand across generations of karigars trained since childhood. For daytime, wear it against a hand-block printed kurta in madder or indigo, where the ring becomes the quiet punctuation in an otherwise restrained palette. For evening, it companions a silk tissue sari beautifully, sitting at the knuckle as its own small declaration. Sized for standard Indian ring sizing, this piece is crafted in brass for durability and lightness across long wearing. The Kundan-set face means there are no sharp prongs to catch on fabric. Available as pictured. At Rs 3,295, it offers an honest entry into a technique that has adorned royalty for centuries.
