Description

There are rings, and then there are rings that hold a conversation. This Kundan ring from Exotic India is worked in brass, a base beloved by the craftsmen of Jaipur for its warm, giving surface, which takes the pressure of Kundan setting with a forgiving precision that silver cannot always match. At its heart, flat-foiled glass stones are pressed and sealed into a raised gold-toned bezel using the ancient lac-fill method: each stone levelled flush, held not by a claw but by the patient hands of a karigar who understands that tension, not metal, is the true keeper. The silhouette is broad and regal, suggesting the floral medallion forms that recur across Rajasthani court jewellery, where the ring was as much a statement of allegiance as of adornment. No enamel interrupts the face here; the composition rests entirely on the lustre of the stones and the burnished frame around them. Wear it with a silk chanderi kurta for a family wedding lunch, where it catches afternoon light without competing with heavier necklaces. It translates equally well over a cream linen co-ord at a curated art event or gallery opening. Measurements for this piece have not been specified, so we recommend reaching out for a precise sizing consultation before purchase. The brass construction keeps the ring light on the finger and resistant to daily wear. Priced at Rs 2,995, it offers considered Kundan craft at an accessible entry point.
