Description

There are rings you wear, and then there are rings that wear you back into history. Kundan work is the quiet authority of the Rajasthani atelier: a technique in which pure lac fills the inner cavity of a metal framework, allowing a karigar to press and seat each unfoiled gemstone or glass cabochon flush against the surface with a patience that cannot be mechanised. Here, that tradition settles into a brass foundation, warm in tone and lighter on the hand than gold, making it an honest medium for everyday devotion to craft. The raised Kundan setting catches flat northern light as readily as candlelight, lending the stone a depth that polished metal alone cannot summon. Brass, properly finished, carries a burnished amber that flatters every skin tone and ages graciously rather than fading. Wear this ring to a daytime mehendi, slipped alongside a single gold bangle so the two metals hold a conversation rather than compete. Or pair it with a cotton chanderi kurta for an office afternoon when you want presence without ceremony. Measurements for this piece are not listed, and weight is similarly unspecified; we recommend sizing guidance at checkout to ensure the fit is confident, not tight. The brass base is finished to minimise contact reactions for most wearers; those with heightened metal sensitivity may wish to note the material before purchasing. The Kundan setting is best kept away from prolonged water exposure to preserve the lac and stone placement over time.
