Description

There are rings, and then there are rings that remember something. This Kundan ring from Exotic India carries the grammar of a court jewel distilled into a single, wearable form. Kundan work, at its heart, is the art of setting uncut or refined stones within a bed of pure gold foil, pressing each one flush until the metal itself seems to hold the light. Here, that same patience has been brought to brass, a metal long favoured by regional craftsmen for its warmth and its willingness to receive fine surface work. The result is a ring whose face likely presents a central stone set within a foiled cavity, surrounded by close-set Kundan-style borders that give the piece the density and visual weight of something far older. The tradition draws its lineage from the ateliers of Jaipur, where Kundan and Meenakari have coexisted for centuries, one facing outward in stone, the other turning inward in enamel colour. Wear this ring on an index finger against a silk kurta in ivory or deep rose, where its golden warmth reads as intentional punctuation. It is equally suited to a festive gathering alongside Meenakari bangles or temple-work earrings, holding its own without competing. The ring is available as pictured, in its single warm brass colourway. Measurements have not been specified; sizing enquiry before purchase is advised. The brass base makes this a comfortable everyday festive piece, requiring only occasional gentle cleaning to preserve its foiled surface.
