Description

There is something quietly arresting about a ring that carries an entire courtly tradition on a single finger. Kundan work belongs to the ateliers of Jaipur, where karigars press foiled gemstones into a bed of refined lac, then encase each stone in pure gold foil to hold it without prong or claw. This brass ring honours that lineage faithfully. The setting is flat-faced and boldly proportioned, its face arranged with a cluster of colour-saturated stones set in the classic Kundan manner: each piece of glass or semi-precious material surrounded by a thin border of polished gold-toned metal that catches light from every angle. Two colour variants are offered, both multi-toned, allowing the wearer to choose between a cooler or warmer palette of inset stones. The brass base lends the ring a satisfying solidity; at twelve grams, it sits with confident weight on the hand, never sliding or shifting. Wear it against a raw-silk kurta at a daytime mehendi, where its flat silhouette reads beautifully against gathered fabric. Equally, it belongs at an evening dinner in a draped georgette sari, the stones catching candlelight the way Kundan was always intended to be seen. The ring weighs twelve grams and carries its stone cluster low and flat, sitting comfortably beneath a dupatta cuff. Brass is kind to everyday wear, and the Kundan setting requires only a soft cloth to retain its lustre across many seasons.
