Description

There are rings that sit quietly on the hand, and then there are rings that hold a conversation with light. This Kundan ring is fashioned in brass and set with a deep green stone at its centre, the colour carrying the cool confidence of a monsoon forest. Kundan work, refined over centuries by the karigars of Jaipur, involves embedding stones within a framework of refined gold foil pressed flush against the setting so that each facet is held as though cradled rather than clamped. Here, that same patient discipline is applied to brass, making the technique accessible without diminishing the visual authority the style commands. The green stone, framed by the characteristic gleam of a Kundan surround, draws the eye and holds it. At 10 grams, the ring has genuine presence on the finger. Wear it against an ivory chanderi kurta for an afternoon mehendi, where its colour will read alongside marigold and mint; or pair it with a slate-grey georgette blouse beneath a contemporary sari for an evening gathering where the old and the new coexist without effort. The ring weighs 10 grams, a weight that reads as substantial without feeling cumbersome through a long occasion. The brass base is finished to complement rather than compete with the Kundan setting. Please refer to our sizing guide before ordering, as dimensions for this piece have not been specified. Care: avoid prolonged contact with water to preserve the finish and the integrity of the stone setting.
