Description

There is a particular stillness to Kundan work, as though the stone has always belonged exactly where it sits. This ring is set in the Kundan tradition, a craft refined over centuries in the ateliers of Jaipur, where thin leaves of beaten foil are layered beneath a central stone to give it an inner luminosity no prong can replicate. The base is brass, worked and shaped to carry a flat, broad bezel characteristic of Rajasthani jewellery, with the stone pressed flush into a surround of fine gold-toned foil work. Three colour expressions are offered: a cool white that reads almost like polki, a warm pink that echoes the rose-cut sensibility of Bikaner craftsmen, and a deep green that calls to mind the uncut emeralds favoured in Mughal-era settings. The ring weighs a settled 10 grams, substantial enough to feel considered on the finger without tipping into excess. Wear the white stone version with a silk kurta in ivory or pale grey for a formal afternoon; pair the green with a handloom Chanderi saree for a wedding festivity where understatement reads as confidence. The pink reads beautifully against deep jewel-toned silks and is equally at ease at a mehendi gathering as it is at a curated dinner table. At a price of Rs 3,495, this is a piece that asks for everyday devotion. The brass base is stable and light to wear; the three colour options allow a single design to serve many wardrobes across many moods.
