Description

There are rings, and then there are quiet declarations of taste. Kundan, the ancient art of setting uncut or polished stones into a bed of lac and gold foil, found its most devoted practitioners in the ateliers of Rajasthan, where generations of karigars learned to coax light from stillness. This brass ring carries that tradition into an accessible, everyday register. The central stone sits flush within a foiled Kundan bezel, each facet bordered by fine gold-toned metal that catches and holds the eye without demanding attention. Brass, chosen here for its warmth and workability, forms the shank and setting, lending the piece a weight of exactly four grams: substantial enough to feel considered on the finger, light enough to wear through a long afternoon without thought. The colour, rich and honeyed, reads closer to gold than it ever announces itself. Pair it with a cotton silk kurta in ivory or dusty rose for a quiet lunch where you wish to be noticed only by those who look closely. For an evening occasion, let it anchor a hand otherwise bare, worn alongside a Meenakari-cuffed sleeve or a bordered dupatta. The Kundan setting is fixed and does not flex, so choose your size with care. At four grams, the ring sits close to the hand rather than commanding it. Brass, when treated gently and kept from prolonged moisture, holds its warm finish through seasons of honest wear.
