Description
There are rings made to be noticed, and then there are rings made to be remembered. Kundan work is among the oldest stone-setting traditions in India, refined across centuries in the ateliers of Jaipur and Bikaner, where artisans press foil-backed stones into a malleable gold-like alloy base with deliberate, unhurried precision. This ring is set in brass, a metal long favoured in traditional jewellery for the warmth it lends beneath polished stones, and dressed in the characteristic Kundan style: flat-set cabochon stones held within a raised bezel of worked metal, their surfaces left uncut to catch light softly rather than sharply. It is offered in two colourways, turquoise and white, each shifting the mood entirely. The turquoise reads as Rajasthani, desert-court, grounded; the white reads as bridal-adjacent, clean and ceremonial. At ten grams, it carries genuine presence on the hand without heaviness. Pair the turquoise colourway with ivory chanderi or a raw-silk kurta in cream and it becomes the only adornment the look needs. The white variant sits beautifully against the deep red or bottle green of a silk saree worn to a festive gathering or a formal pooja. The ring weighs ten grams and sits with enough substance to feel considered on the finger. The brass base is finished to resist tarnish under normal wear; keep it away from water and perfume to preserve the Kundan setting's characteristic lustre over time.
