Description

There are rings, and then there are rings that remember something older than fashion. Kundan is among the most ceremonial of India's jewellery traditions, born in the royal ateliers of Rajasthan and refined over centuries in the lanes of Jaipur. The technique demands patience: a base is built up in layers, then fine foil is pressed around each uncut stone to hold it without prong or claw, purely through the pressure of worked metal. Here, that tradition is translated into brass, a metal with its own warm, antique-gold resonance, carrying none of the clinical brightness of plated alloys. The result is a ring whose Kundan-set stones sit flush and confident within their settings, the characteristic flat-faced composition giving the face of the ring a jewel-box quality, dense with colour and intention. At nine grams, it carries a satisfying, unhurried weight on the finger. Wear it to a daytime mehendi alongside a pastel chanderi kurta set, where its warmth catches afternoon light without competing with bridal reds. It sits equally well at an intimate dinner, paired with a solid silk blouse and a single strand of pearls, doing the work of colour so everything else stays quiet. The brass construction means the ring holds its shape reliably with everyday wear. No sizing details are listed, so prospective buyers are encouraged to consult the size guide before ordering. At nine grams, the piece rests on the hand with presence, not weight.
