Description

The elephant does not merely decorate this ring; it presides over it. Worked in brass and set with Kundan-style stones flush against a polished, foiled bed, the elephant motif rises in confident relief across the face of this ring. The figure is rendered with the unhurried attention one associates with the artisan ateliers of Jaipur and Bikaner, where the Kundan tradition of embedding stones in a hammered metal seat has been practised across generations. What distinguishes this piece further are the ghungroos, those small hollow bells suspended at the base of the setting, their gentle sound a living echo of temple adornment and processional jewellery. The brass body, weighing seventeen and a half grammes, carries a warm gold tone that flatters the Kundan stones' contained luminosity. At one point seven five inches tall and zero point seven five inches wide (approximately four point four centimetres by one point nine centimetres), the face is substantial without overwhelming the hand. Pair it with a hand-block-printed cotton kurta for a festive afternoon gathering, or let it anchor a plain silk sari blouse where it will speak without competition. It belongs equally to a mehendi ceremony or a curated everyday look that refuses to be ordinary. The adjustable shank accommodates most finger sizes comfortably, making it a reliable choice for gifting without the anxiety of sizing. Brass wears well with minimal care, and the adjustable band means it sits securely without pinching.
