Description

There are sounds that need no translation, and the Om is one of them. Cast in warm-toned brass and shaped into a precise kite silhouette, this pendant distils one of Hinduism's most sacred syllables into a form that is architectural in its clarity. The kite outline, four sides converging at a single pointed base, echoes the diamond geometry favoured in regional folk jewellery traditions across Rajasthan and Bengal, where brass has long been worked as an honest, unglamorous metal with a character entirely its own. The Om symbol sits centred within the form, its curves rendered with the unhurried attention that small-scale brass casting demands. At roughly 2.9 cm in height and 2.5 cm in width, the pendant occupies a quiet but confident presence, weighing just 4.1 grams against the collarbone. A piece at this scale sits effortlessly against a plain white kurta for a morning of quiet intention, or layered over a printed cotton anarkali when worn as a considered accent rather than a statement. The brass tone reads warmly against ivory, saffron and dusty rose, bridging the devotional and the everyday without effort. The free-size pendant slides onto a chain of your choosing, making it adaptable to neck lengths from choker to opera. Brass, when worn regularly, develops a gentle patina that deepens its character over time. A soft cloth keeps the surface clean without diminishing that earned warmth.
