Description

The lion has always known how to wear itself. Cast in brass and shaped into a confident kite silhouette, this pendant carries the weight of a motif that has presided over temple gopurams, royal crests and folk amulets for centuries. The lion face is rendered with the directness of traditional Indian metalwork, where bold relief takes precedence over delicacy: a mane that radiates outward, eyes that hold their ground, and a jaw set in ceremonial authority. Brass, long favoured by craftsmen across Rajasthan and the Deccan for its warmth and workability, ages into a golden-amber tone that only deepens with time. At 1.15 inches in height (approximately 2.9 cm) by 1 inch in width (approximately 2.5 cm) and a grounded 5.15 grams, the piece sits with presence rather than weight, the kite form narrowing to a neat point below the face. Thread it onto a black silk cord for a kurta worn to a festive lunch, or pair it with a fine gold chain against a cotton Kalamkari blouse for something quietly eclectic. The lion reads as talisman and ornament simultaneously, making it as fitting for a casual heritage gathering as for a considered everyday statement. The brass is finished to a warm lustre that requires no special care. The pendant is free-sized in the sense that the bail accepts most standard chains and cords, keeping it genuinely versatile across different styling moods and necklines.
