Description

Devotion, when held close to the heart, asks for nothing more than sincerity of form. Jalaram Bapa, the beloved saint of Virpur whose life was an unbroken act of service, is rendered here in sterling silver with the quiet gravity that only a devotional pendant deserves. Cast and finished by hand in 925 sterling silver, the pendant carries the saint's image within a silhouette that measures 1.25 inches in height by 0.75 inches in width (approximately 3.2 cm by 1.9 cm), keeping the form intimate rather than declarative. At 4.5 grams, the piece settles against the chest with a gentle, reassuring weight. The silver surface is worked to bring out the fine detailing of the figure, the finish burnished to a warm, even sheen that speaks of careful attention rather than mechanical polish. This is a tradition of devotional silverwork that runs through Saurashtra and Gujarat, where the karigar understands that sacred iconography demands restraint and precision in equal measure. Worn on a simple silver chain with a white cotton kurta during morning puja or on Jalaram Jayanti, the pendant becomes an act of remembrance. Paired with a silk angavastram over festive dress, it reads as both ornament and offering. The free-size pendant suits a variety of chain weights and lengths. The sterling silver construction is durable enough for daily wear and responds well to a soft cloth when cleaning. A piece meant to travel with you, quietly, through ordinary and sacred days alike.
