Description

There are symbols that do not merely decorate; they carry the weight of a living tradition. The Khanda, the sovereign emblem of the Sikh faith, is rendered here in sterling silver on a quietly circular field, its three blades and central double-edged sword articulated with a hand-painted finish that brings warmth and definition to each line. The technique is painstaking: pigment is laid by hand onto the silver surface, filling the recesses of the form so that the sacred geometry reads with clarity rather than flatness. Sterling silver, known for its cool lustre and reliable purity, forms a fitting ground for a motif of such spiritual gravity. At one inch in height (approximately 2.5 cm) and 0.8 inches across (approximately 2 cm), the pendant holds its presence without overpowering; its 2.87 grams rest with pleasing lightness against the chest. Worn on a fine silver chain over a crisp ivory kurta, it becomes a quiet declaration of faith at a Gurpurab celebration or a family gathering. Against a deep navy silk salwar, the hand-painted silver reads as something both devotional and considered, equally at ease in a diaspora drawing room as in the lanes of Amritsar. The round silhouette sits flush against the collarbone and requires no specialist care beyond a soft cloth polish. The pendant arrives in free size and suits chains of varying lengths, making it a considered and personal everyday keepsake.
