Description

There are devotions that need no temple, only the right piece of silver close to the heart. This pendant carries Chaturbhuja Ganesha, the four-armed remover of obstacles, rendered in sterling silver and brought to life through hand-painting, a technique that demands a steady hand and intimate knowledge of the iconography. Each of the four arms holds its sacred attribute with quiet precision, the figure seated in a posture of serene abundance. The hand-painted detail, applied directly onto the sterling silver surface, recalls the miniature traditions of Rajasthan, where devotional imagery and fine metalwork have long been inseparable companions. The silver itself is worked to a smooth, polished ground that allows the painted colours to read clearly against the cool metallic field. Weighing 8.4 grams, the pendant sits with gentle presence without pulling at the chain. Worn on a fine silver chain over a cream silk kurta, it becomes the quiet centrepiece of a festive morning. Equally, it settles naturally against the neckline of a dark linen dress for a diaspora gathering where heritage is worn with ease rather than ceremony. The pendant measures 1.65 inches in height and 1.3 inches in width (approximately 4.2 cm by 3.3 cm), a proportion that reads clearly at the neckline without overwhelming it. Free size, designed for a standard bail fitting, it accommodates most chain gauges without adjustment. Sterling silver requires only occasional gentle polishing to retain its lustre across years of daily wear.
