Description

She who dissolves time wears no ornament but herself, and yet this pendant holds her entire cosmology in copper. Cast in warm, reddish copper, the pendant presents Mahakali in her full, fearsome grace: the goddess rendered with the precision that devotional metalwork demands, her iconography drawn from a tradition of sacred image-making that stretches across Bengal and the tantric temple towns of South India. The obverse carries her form; the reverse is engraved with the Mahakali Yantra, the geometric diagram that concentrates her energy into intersecting triangles and a radiating bindhu at the centre. This is not decorative coincidence but intentional theology, a piece of wearable yantra practice. Measuring 1.3 inches (approximately 3.3 cm) in diameter and weighing a considered 10 grams, the pendant sits with presence rather than weight, the copper developing a living patina with wear. Pair it with a cream or indigo cotton kurta for daily meditation practice, the copper warm against natural cloth. For Navaratri or Kali Puja, thread it on a black silk cord and let it rest over deep red or black handloom silk, where the burnished metal speaks in tones the fabric already understands. The free-size format means the pendant suits any cord, chain or woven thread of your choosing. Copper is inherently auspicious in Indian ritual understanding, and at 10 grams the piece is substantial enough to be felt without becoming cumbersome through long hours of wear.
