Description

She arrives bearing lotus and largesse, cast in brass that carries the weight of devotion. Temple jewellery from South India has long served as the ornamental language of the sacred, and this Goddess Lakshmi pendant speaks that language with quiet authority. The central figure of Lakshmi is rendered in high-relief brass, her form framed by the characteristic arch and floral filigree of the temple tradition, a silhouette rooted in the craft vocabularies of Nagercoil and the Deccan workshops that once adorned processional deities. Dangling beads fall from the lower register in tiers, their movement mimicking the kinetic energy of votive jewellery meant to catch lamplight during ritual. The brass carries a warm, antique-toned finish, neither too bright nor too raw, settling into the rich ochre that this metal acquires through considered ageing. At 2.7 inches height by 2.3 inches width (approximately 6.9 cm by 5.8 cm) and weighing 45 grams, the pendant holds genuine presence without overwhelming the collarbone. Wear it against a deep-toned Kanjivaram or a raw silk kurta in rust or ivory for a temple-visit ensemble that is effortlessly composed. For diaspora dressing, it anchors a simple cotton kurta or even a linen co-ord, the brass reading as considered, not costumed. The pendant is a free-size piece and pairs with any chain of appropriate gauge. The brass construction makes it hardy for regular wear; a soft dry cloth is all it requires to maintain its glow.
