Description

There is a quiet architecture to this ring, one that belongs equally to the drawing table and the jeweller's block. The face of the ring measures approximately 1 inch in height and 1.30 inches in width (roughly 2.5 cm by 3.3 cm), its geometric silhouette built from interlocking angular forms set flush with Kundan stones. Kundan work, long centred in the ateliers of Jaipur, involves pressing polished stones into a bed of refined gold foil or, as here, a carefully finished brass base, so that each stone appears to float within its cell rather than sit above it. The red and sea-green colourways reference the classic pairing beloved in Rajasthani jewellery, where saturated colour is never decorative excess but a considered language of form. At 14 grammes, the ring carries real presence without heaviness. Wear the red stone version with an ivory chanderi kurta and a single stack of plain gold bangles, letting the Kundan face hold all the colour. The sea-green reads beautifully against rust and terracotta handloom, or alongside a silk sari border that echoes its cool, aqueous tone. The shank is adjustable, fitting most finger sizes without resizing, which makes this an easy companion across seasons and occasions. Brass, when finished with care, develops a warm patina over time. Store away from moisture and wipe gently after wear to keep the Kundan setting bright and the brass base even.
