Description

There is a particular stillness in a deep red stone caught in silver, as though the colour itself is holding its breath. The Garnet Marquis Ring takes its name from the marquise silhouette: that elegant, pointed oval which has been the preferred cut of Indian jewellers and European ateliers alike for centuries, prized for the way it draws the eye lengthwise across the finger and makes a modest stone feel generous. Here, a single garnet sits in a bezel or prong setting at the centre, its wine-dark depth intensifying against the cool lustre of sterling silver. The band is spare and unadorned, allowing the stone's natural colour all the space it deserves. Weighing just one gram and standing eleven millimetres at its tallest point, this is jewellery rooted in quiet restraint rather than spectacle. Sterling silver, with its warm-white finish, has long been the favoured metal for gemstone rings in Rajasthani workshops where form follows the stone, not the other way around. Wear it alone against the hand on a linen kurta in ivory or ochre for an unhurried afternoon gathering, or stack it with a slim silver band for a contemporary office look that reads as intentional without effort. The eleven-millimetre height sits close enough to the hand to feel comfortable through a full day's wear. Sterling silver is gentle on sensitive skin, requires only a soft cloth to maintain its shine, and is well suited to daily use without ceremony.
