Description

She carries the lotus, the gold pot, the promise of abundance, and she rests at your throat in sterling silver. Rooted in the South Indian temple jewellery tradition, this pendant renders Goddess Lakshmi in her four-armed form, each hand holding a sacred attribute that Vaishnavite iconography has carried across centuries. The piece is cast and finished in sterling silver, its surface worked to capture the layered architecture of temple gopuram sculptures: the seated posture, the ornate crown, the fine border framing her form. At just 1.25 inches in height (approximately 3.2 cm) and weighing 3.5 grams, the pendant is small enough to feel intimate yet detailed enough to invite a second glance. The silver carries a warm oxidised finish that deepens the relief, making every carved line of drapery and jewellery read with quiet clarity. Wear it on a fine silver chain against a raw silk blouse for a festival lunch, or layer it over a simple cotton kurta when the occasion calls for something considered rather than conspicuous. It suits both a Kanjivaram-draped evening and a pared-down everyday wardrobe with equal ease. The pendant arrives ready to string on any chain you already own, as the bail accommodates standard silver chains comfortably. At 3.5 grams, it sits lightly against the skin without pulling. The oxidised sterling silver requires only occasional gentle polishing to hold its depth and character over years of faithful wearing.
