Description

He guards crossroads and villages, and now he rests at the hollow of your throat. Karuppasamy is one of Tamil Nadu's most venerated folk deities, a protector figure rooted in the agrarian heartland, honoured in village shrines from the Kaveri delta to the slopes of the Nilgiris. This pendant renders him in sterling silver with the seriousness the subject demands: a strong frontal form, likely worked by hands familiar with the repoussé and hand-finishing traditions that keep South Indian devotional silversmithing alive. The figure carries the weight of that lineage. At roughly 1.9 inches in height and 0.65 inches in width (approximately 4.8 cm by 1.7 cm), the pendant is compact yet arresting, its surface detail legible even at this contained scale. Weighing 12.1 grams, the sterling silver gives it a satisfying presence against the skin. Wear this pendant on a long black silk cord for a Pongal gathering or a temple visit, where its devotional significance speaks without explanation. It pairs equally well against a plain white cotton kurta on an ordinary Tuesday, a quiet assertion of identity that needs no occasion to justify itself. The free-size pendant suits any chain width or cord thickness you prefer. The sterling silver finish, consistent with the pictured piece, ages gracefully and polishes easily. Its solid weight means it hangs true without twisting, making it as practical for daily wear as it is meaningful for ritual ones.
