Description

There are moments when silver becomes scripture. This pendant carries the eternal scene in miniature: Krishna at his flute, Radha beside him, the two figures rendered in sterling silver relief against a compact silhouette that measures just one inch in height by half an inch in width (approximately 2.5 cm by 1.4 cm). The devotional motif belongs to a long tradition of votive jewellery made across Vrindavan, Mathura and the temple-town ateliers of South India, where silver is worked by hand into figurative forms meant to be worn close to the heart. At 2.6 grams, the piece is light enough to forget you are wearing it, yet the relief carving gives it a quiet presence. The sterling silver surface carries a warm oxidised finish that deepens the shadow between the figures, allowing every curve of the flute and every fold of the dupatta to read with clarity and stillness. Wear it on a fine silver chain against the open neckline of a white mulmul kurta for daily pooja mornings, or layer it over a deep-toned silk blouse on festive evenings when you want devotion to travel lightly alongside celebration. A pendant this precise in scale suits both delicate chains and woven thread cords. It needs no clasp beyond what your chain provides, sits flush against the collarbone without pulling, and requires only occasional polishing with a soft cloth to maintain its silvered depth.
