Description
There are moments when devotion becomes ornament, and ornament becomes devotion. The fluting Radha Krishna pendant renders one of Hinduism's most beloved iconographic pairings as a finely worked bust in sterling silver, Krishna's flute raised to his lips, Radha's gaze turned quietly inward. The motif draws on a long tradition of devotional silversmithing practised across Rajasthan and the temple-jewellery ateliers of South India, where figural repoussé and hand-engraved detail have long served as a form of prayer in metal. Weighing 10.1 grams, the piece carries the satisfying heft of considered craft. Two finishes are offered: the Polish variant, at approximately 2.5 cm height by 2.3 cm width, presents the silver in its brightest, most luminous state; the Vintage finish, slightly larger at roughly 2.8 cm by 2.8 cm, gives the surface an aged, antiqued quality that brings the carved relief into sharper relief against the recessed shadows. Wear the Polish finish on a fine silver chain with an ivory or blush silk kurta for a festive afternoon gathering. The Vintage finish sits beautifully against a deep indigo or rust cotton for quieter, everyday devotion. Free-sized in its fitting, the pendant asks only for a chain of your choosing, sold separately. Both finishes are worked in sterling silver, requiring only a soft cloth and occasional airing to maintain their character. A piece compact enough for daily wear, considered enough for a lifelong collection.
