Description

Radha and Krishna, rendered in the language of devotion, small enough to rest at the hollow of a throat. The pendant belongs to the antique silver tradition practised by artisans whose vocabulary draws equally from temple iconography and courtly ornament. Worked in sterling silver, the piece depicts the divine couple in the characteristic fluting style, where rhythmic ridged lines and shallow relief carving lend depth and movement to figures no larger than a thumbnail. That burnished, oxidised finish, darkening the recesses and warming the raised surfaces, is the mark of deliberate ageing, achieved through careful chemical treatment rather than wear, giving the metal the gravitas of an heirloom without requiring one. The pendant measures roughly 2.8 cm in height and 2 cm in width, weighing just 8 grams, keeping it featherlight at the chest. It pairs with equal grace over a fine cream silk kurta for a festive daytime gathering, or layered against a deep indigo linen kurta-set for a cultural evening where restraint reads as refinement. A delicate silver chain, kept plain, lets the iconography speak without competition. At free size and just 8 grams of sterling silver, the pendant sits comfortably on both a fine chain and a waxed cord. The antique finish is robust enough for regular wear; a soft cloth and occasional gentle cleaning will preserve the intentional patina that gives this piece its quiet, enduring character.
