Description
There are moments when mythology distills itself into something small enough to wear close to the heart. This pendant holds the eternal pairing of Krishna and Radha within a silhouette barely two and a half centimetres tall and one and a half centimetres wide, cast in sterling silver and finished in a warm vintage patina that deepens every engraved detail. The figures are rendered with the quiet devotion characteristic of devotional silver traditions practised across temple-jewellery centres in South India and Bengal alike, where the divine couple has long been a subject of intimate, miniature-scale craftsmanship. Krishna stands in his tribhanga pose, flute raised, while Radha attends beside him, the two forms interlocked compositionally rather than merely placed side by side. The vintage finish, slightly oxidised and selectively burnished, coaxes shadow into the folds of their garments and the curvature of the flute, lending the piece an antique authority that bright polish could never achieve. At three and a half grams, the sterling silver sits with surprising presence for its scale. Worn on a fine silver chain, it reads beautifully against an ivory or cream kurta at a Janmashtami gathering or a family puja. It suits equally well layered beneath the neckline of a silk saree blouse, resting just at the collarbone. Free in size and straightforward to wear daily, this pendant requires no special care beyond keeping it away from moisture. The vintage colour is the only finish offered, and it is the only one this motif truly needs.
