Description

There are melodies that belong to twilight, and this one is cast in silver. The Fluting Bal Krishna Pendant captures the eternal child-god mid-song, his flute raised, his contrapposto stance rendered with the quiet precision that distinguishes fine sterling silver work from mass production. Sterling silver, with its cool blue-white lustre, is an honest metal: it takes detail faithfully, holds it clearly, and ages into something only more characterful with time. At just under an inch tall (approximately 2.4 cm) and weighing a featherlight 5.5 grams, the pendant is modelled in the round, the figure emerging with dimensional warmth rather than flat stamp-work. The silhouette owes its sensibility to the devotional silver traditions of temple towns, where karigars have long translated the Krishna iconography, peacock feather, bent knee and all, into wearable form. No stones interrupt the surface; the craft speaks entirely through form and a burnished finish that catches light at the raised contours. Wear it on a fine silver chain over a deep indigo silk kurta for a festive gathering, or thread it onto a black dori cord for everyday devotion with a crisp cotton salwar. Either way, it moves between the sacred and the styled with ease. The pendant is free-sized by nature, suited to any chain gauge you already own. The sterling construction means it is robust enough for daily wear, and a soft cloth buff will restore its brightness whenever you wish.
